Wow folks! I love the new Bugaboo Donkey! I can't wait to check it out for real but it looks really awesome. It goes from single to double stroller, which is pretty sweet! It looks like it still has the features of the regular Bugaboos, like the reversible and reclinable seats as well as the option to have a bassinet or seat in each of two spots. Pretty groundbreaking!!! I think they're going to sell some strollers....
I am blown away! This is flippin' fantastic!!! Can you believe it? Goes from bike to stroller and back again? I've never wanted to bike with my little guy because those baby bike seats seem precarious to me. This is so stable and looks so safe and easy to use. It definitely makes sense in a place like Holland where people ride bikes instead of driving. I would love it anywhere! It's called Taga.
The best new thing in Chicago is the new Galt Baby store in Lincoln Park! It's a warehouse style store with all the fabulous things you could ever want! They have a huge selection of strollers with plenty of room to tool around and try them out. They've got car seats, high chairs, cribs, and all the wonderful lovely baby essentials you could ever want. And of course, toys! It's the best place to go for all the best. Here are a few more shots, just to give you a better idea. For more info, check out the Galt website.
I'm still a Maclaren stroller fan, but the Cybex Ruby is super awesome.....and new from Germany! I love the grey and white lightweight frame. I also found one plus over the Maclaren Volo.....the Ruby's back panel clicks to the frame and is held in place. The Volo's back is loose, so if the little one leans forward the back fabric just goes with him.....making the shoulder straps pretty useless. This one feature alone makes Ruby a winner in my book! Available at only a few select retailers....including Galt Toys and Galt Baby.
I just discovered a great way to get a swing for your baby without the whole swing set (and without walking to the park). You do need a good tree though.... My friend has one of these swings from Gorilla Playsets hanging from a tree in her back yard. It's really a nice product....a very simple and elegant design in nice bright colors.
On my recent trip to New Mexico, I bought one of these bath thermometers at the great store Twirl. It's by a German company called Erler & Weinkauff that makes a wide variety of awesome looking thermometers. This bath thermometer is called the Bath Bubble and comes in pink, blue, black, and yellow. I was never sure before if the bath water was the right temperature for my little guy. So far it's been really handy although you have to wait a couple minutes for it to read (wouldn't it be nice if all gizmos could be instantaneous?). I haven't found it in the US anywhere except at Twirl. Maybe soon these little guys will be everywhere....
